Cable test terminations and injection capacitors are normally necessary.
But to higher voltage cables, we will proposal cascade inductance resonant test systems, single modules or two modules. For tanks type inductance resonant test system, maximum voltage we have tried is 500kV, it heavy and not easy moved. If cascade with epoxy tube design will be much more convenient.
The triangle structure of the capacitors can save much room for user.

To 35kV power cable, I think above impulse voltage generator is enough, but to a much higher voltage power cable, there will need bigger impulse voltage generator:
The above are HIVG 1200kV and HIVG 2400kV impulse Voltage generators. Please be noticed: in 1200kv impulse system, there listed the multiple chopping gap, its an option item. If test cable only, you will not need this component.
